University of Technology Sets the Final Touches Before Inauguration of Kirkuk Airport
Head of the Civil Engineering Dept., Prof. Dr. Hassan Joni, headed a delegation from the advisory team in charge of auditing the engineering and technical requirements to complete the opening of Kirkuk International Airport in Kirkuk Governorate.
Dr. Hassan Joni said after reviewing plans and works that are being implemented and whose works have been completed, the team expressed its required technical observations and guidance to complete everything required and as quickly as possible in the presence of the Governor of Kirkuk, Mr. Rakan Saeed, at the airport and meeting with the delegation in order to exchange views and discuss everything that secures the inauguration of the airport as soon as possible.
The head of the delegation gave a summary of the mission of the advisory team and the role of Iraqi universities and the University of Technology with a special focus on providing technical and engineering support to all sectors of the state, especially to Kirkuk governorate and its airport. The Governor of Kirkuk praised the academic reputation of U.O.T. in localty and internationally levels, thanking the delegation for its presence and follow-up to complete the inauguration of Kirkuk airport The delegation's visit coincided with the visit of the Turkish ambassador to Iraq who stressed the importance of the airport and cooperation with the Iraqi Aviation Authority To open airlines between Kirkuk airport and Turkish airports with its inauguration, expressing his admiration for the ongoing work and praising the role of the delegation of the U.O.T. and their efforts to speed up its implementation..JPG)
