The University of Technology 1st  Cultural Festival for Literature and Arts

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and in cooperation between  Control and Systems Eng. Dept. and Student Activities Department at U.O.T. , the establishment of a committee to follow up on poetic activities, the University First Festival of  Literature and Arts, entitled:  (Course of the Poet Muhammad Hussein Al Yaseen).

On the conference hall in Control and Systems Eng. Dept. , in the presence of the great poet Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al Yaseen - President of the Scientific Academy and President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed M. Hassan Al-Ghaban, Head of Control and Systems Eng. Dept. , Dr. Azad Rahim Karim and a number of university professors and students in addition to the great poets of Iraq.

Prof. Dr. Al-Ghaban said in his speech that this activity coincided with the International Day of the Arabic Language to be an opportunity and an initiative of the University of Technology.

He emphasized on  preserving  our language, culture and literature. On the other hand, His Excellency the President of the Scientific Academy, Dr. Al Yaseen, praised the role of the university in this field, and called the Technological University “a treasure” because of its generous giving and dedicated to serving the community.

The festival included reciting poems, as well as musical performances, singing patriotic poems, drawing and others.

The festival concluded by honoring all participants with the festival shield and honoring Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al Yaseen with the university shield in appreciation of the presidency of the University of Technology for its great role in enriching Iraqi literature and poetry.
