U.O.T Wins 3rd place in the Iraqi Universities Championship of Futsal for the Central Region
The University of Technology Futsal team won the 3rd place in the Iraqi Universities Championship for the Central Region, which concluded in the closed hall of College of Basic Education at the host Al-Mustansiriyah University, and the University of Technology student Heider Sabah was named the best player in the tournament.
U.O.T. team came in 3rd place after its victory over AL - Israa team with three goals without a response.
To run for the final rounds of the Iraq Universities Championship, which will be held at a future time determined by the Student Activities Department in the Ministry.
U.O.T. team managed to win over the universities of Uruk 9-1, Al-Bayan 4-1 and Al-Iraqiyah 6-0, and loss to Al-Israa University College 3-7 to return and win over the Iraqi University 7-3 to qualify for the next round. Penalty mark 4-3 after the original time ended in a 2-2 draw, to run for the semi-final against the University of Al-Mustansiriyah whom lost by penalty kicks 5-4 after the original time of the match ended in 7-7.
At the end of the tournament, the President of Al-Mustansiriyah University, Prof. Dr. Hamid Fadhel Al-Tamimi, distributed prizes and cups to winning teams in the first places, the title holder, the Al-Mustansiriyah University team, which won the final match against Al-Farahidi University team with two goals to one goal. The U.O.T. team came 3rd and Al-Israa College 4th , and won the title of top scorer. Al-Farahidi University player Haider Safi scored 15 goals, while Ali Khaled from Al-Mustansiriyah University team won the title of best goalkeeper, and Al-Rafidain College team won the title of the typical team.
