The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics at the University of Technology held an awareness lecture on (the harmful effects of smoking and drugs in society) delivered by Prof. Dr. (Ali Abdel-Khalek Abdel-Hadi), a lecturer in the department.

The lecture dealt with guiding students about the danger of smoking and drug addiction, which is one of the most serious problems that an individual or society is exposed to, as its damage does not only target the smoker or drug addict, but its effects extend to severe social and economic damage.

The lecturer touched on the ingredients that help students in quick take preventive measures that help them to quit smoking and drugs and get rid of their effects before reaching the stage of addiction, and focus on the harms and risks that smokers and addicts may be exposed to, and the negative effects that result from not realizing their dangers early and thus reaching a solution.
