The University of Technology hold a cultural reading festival.
With the support of His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, and the sponsorship of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and the supervision of the Department of Civil Engineering, the University of Technology held its first cultural festival for the fourth reading session, which was organized by the Techno Book Team, which is a voluntary scientific and cultural gathering of students of the University of Technology, in the presence of the Assistant President of Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, and the representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Saad Aliwi, and Mr. Zidane Khalaf, Director General of Legal Affairs at the Prisoners Foundation, and Mr. Jabbar Mawat, Director General of Special Committees at the Prisoners Foundation, and Professor Dr. Ali Majeed, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, with the participation of a large number of students. The festival activities began with a speech by the Assistant President of Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, stating that this festival seeks to present a distinguished group of participants by presenting many ideas and initiatives that represent solutions to confront the challenges that represent a barrier to achieving their ambitions, stressing the importance of student issues on the government curriculum agenda by motivating them to be creative and innovative to raise the status of Iraq by unleashing their creative and leadership capabilities within a national framework, followed by a speech by Mr. The representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Saad Aliwi, expressed his thanks to the University of Technology for holding such festivals that support student energies and cultural activities, stressing the readiness of the Ministry, headed by the Minister, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, to provide all support to hold student activities.
The event also included a visual report on the scientific activities and competitions sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports among educational circles. The festival is based on a competition to read several diverse literary books, where the participating students read one of the books nominated by the committee and then present a summary of the book they read. In turn, the committee directs questions to the competitor from within the book the competitor read, based on which the student is evaluated according to several criteria, as the arbitration committee is a group of university students, including the master's student Baraa Thamer from the Department of Applied Sciences, the student Ali Hussein Abdul Qader from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, senior, the student Yasser Ahmed from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, senior, and the student Ghina Sattar from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, senior. The festival also included the presentation of gifts to the guests by the Assistant President of Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad, as an appreciation for their efforts in supporting student activities at the University of Technology. The festival concluded with the arbitration committee presenting certificates of thanks and appreciation to the competing students.
