PhD thesis discussion in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology entitled " Preparation and characterization of drug delivery biomaterials system"
 
The doctoral thesis of the student, Saja Aqil Mousa, included where scaffolding was prepared with different structures in order to develop a drug delivery system for the treatment of chronic cardiovascular diseases at the same time working to regenerate the damaged myocardial tissue and restore its function. Drug-laden polycaprolactone films were made using different electrospinning techniques. Infrared spectroscopy examination showed that there is no interaction between the drug and the polymer. The results of the drug release examination showed that the drug releases two phases, the first with a very high release rate within 48 hours, and then followed by a long-term release. Increasing the concentration of PCL polymer reduces the initial release rate of the drug, reducing DMF, emulsifying methods and adding PEG have the same effect. The results of culture and toxicity examination of human-derived fat stem cells showed no adverse effect of the drug on cell growth.
