Scientific Trip to South Oil Company for 3rd Stage Students

     Among scientific trips in Petroleum Technology Department, the department organized a scientific trip for 3rd stage students to Al-Basra governorate / South Oil Company (S.O.C) from 3 to 6 February 2013.This trip included a visit to important petroleum locations which related to the specialty of the department in order to gain great benefits scientifically and technically. These visits were in Al-Burjosiah of S.O.C, board of drilling and reclamation, board of West Qurna operations (which was granted to ExxonMobil – the American oil company in one of the rounds of contracts and licenses for development purposes), Al-Rumailah field (granted to the British Petroleum – the British oil company also given in one of the rounds of contracts and licenses for the same purposes) and Majnoon oil Field (granted to Shell – the Dutch oil company).During the trip many lectures were given and many workshops were held for the students by the engineers and administrators of these companies about the safety and oil industry importance in Iraq and other lectures in production, drilling, reclamation, water injection, wells reviving and well logging in addition to fields’ visits to view the drilling rigs and degassing stations.

     These visits were supervised by: A.L. Mohammed Ghazi, A.L. Emad Abdul Hussein, A.L. Jihad Al-Jumah and A.E. Inas Ali.
