Petroleum Technology Basketball Team Defeats the Machinery and Equipment Department Team and Qualified for the Finals

    In the University of Technology and within the university championship of basketball in the semi-finals, The Petroleum Technology team met the Machinery and Equipment team, both willing to be qualified to the finals. Hussein Sareeh and Hassan Abdul Redha as field referees, and Sheerin Welsen and Dalia as scoring referees.

The Petroleum Technology team included: Ali Haider, Salwan Sahm, Nawar Kutamee, Murtadha Kais, Ali Hameed, Muhammed Abdul Kareem and Ibrahim Salah.

    The first quarter of the match showed compatible efforts from both teams, the Petroleum Technology team shined in the second quarter with the great presence of Ali Haider and Salwan Sahm.

    The fourth quarter, despite the fact that the machinery and equipment team was behind with two points, it was eager to win which made it leads with a point difference but Petroleum Technology team soon scored to end the original time of the match with draw score (15/15).

    In the additional time The Petroleum Technology department took the lead and ended the match with 7 points higher after the great efforts of Nawar Kutamee and Salwan Sahm.

    By that great winning the team qualified to meet Control and Systems team in the finals.

    It’s worth mentioning that the team qualified to the semi finals after winning the Electromagnetic team with score (16/20).
