Under the Heading of Dr. Mohamed Saleh Al-Jawad, head of oil
Technology department, the curriculum Updating Committee was met
in the department conference room on 04/04/2013.
The meeting included a discussion and constructive dialogue
between the members of the committee to make a positive
adjustment to the curriculum within the specialty of petroleum
engineering in line with the requirements of the labor market.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Jawad stated: It is possible and in accordance
with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research to switch curriculum each (5) years and can
be an amendment or a change of 20% on the curriculum core. What
is important is to achieve harmonization between the
requirements of the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Higher
Education according to quality specifications and standards.
The formation of a curriculum updating committee came in
implementation of the recommendations of the Scientific
Symposium (academic curricula and suitability to the
requirements of the labor market) held by the department on
6/11/2012 after obtaining the approval of the President of the
University. The Committee shall consist of: head of the
department Dr. Mohammed Al-Jawad (as president) and scientific
assistant, Dr. Asawer Abdul Rasul (a reporter) and the
membership of: expert Jassim Mohammed Hamid from (Oil Ministry /
Department of Training and Development) and Dr. Raad Mohammed
Al-Khalisi from (Oil Technology Department), head of Engineering
Branch, and Dr. Ali Habble from Basra University / Faculty of
Engineering / Head of Department of Petroleum Engineering and
Dr. Samira Mohammed Hamad, from Baghdad University / Faculty of
Engineering / Department of Petroleum Engineering and Dr. Jawad
Radi Alasal from Kirkuk University / Faculty of Engineering /
Petroleum Engineering and Dr. Hussein Ali Baqer from University
of Baghdad / College of Engineering / Department of Petroleum
Engineering and Dr. Saad Ahmed Jafar from University of Tikrit /
Oil and Minerals Engineering and Chief Engineer Ahlam Azuldin
Hussein from Ministry of Oil / Oil Training Institute in Kirkuk
and Ali Kamal DeRuysch from Koya University and Dr. Salam
Jabbar Hussein from Maysan University.
