The department of Petroleum Technology was founded in order to be one of the engineering departments at the university of technology and to supplement the oil and gas sector with specialized engineers in the field of oil extractive industries. Currently the department includes a petroleum engineering branch and accepts the students in its four years studies of various basic and support sciences and in addition to the field training and scientific visits to oil sites in order to raise the level of the specialized engineering education.
