University of Technology Petroleum Department participates in a scientific symposium to combat drugs.

An elite group from University of Technology faculty and including Dr. Hadeel Fawzi / Department of Petroleum in the scientific symposium to combat drugs that was held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Research and Development and a supervision of scientific evaluation on Monday, 09/30/2013 at the central hall shared between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education.

 The aim of the symposium was to define anesthsetic drugs and substances with psychoactive effects including psychological, social, and economic and methods of prevention as well as the definition of the actions taken to reduce risks.

 The seminar included lectures of professors and specialists in the field of counter anesthsetics and they include: the National Consultant for Mental Health / Ministry of Health, Dr. Emad Abdul Razzaq, director of anti-drug / Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Raad Mahdi Abdul Sahib and assistant professor Dr. Arkan Saeed / Research Center psychological / Baghdad University and Director of Quality Assurance accreditation / supervision device and scientific evaluation , an assistant professor  Dr. Taso Saleh  Saeed.

    During the symposium it was discussed the negative effects of drug abuse and recommendation coordinate the work of the concerned authorities to combat this phenomenon by setting up a committee comprising of representatives from the ministries of higher education and youth , health and holds the interior work on conducting research , surveys and statistics
