Students participated in the Petroleum
Department Championships of Iraqi Universities for individual
games hosted by the province of Arbil, in cooperation with the
Iraqi Union for the duration of 30/11-7/12/2013. The department was represented in every game by Emir Talib Ali in table tennis, while the player Mohammed Mustafa Hamza in badminton both representing as team as players from the University of Technology.
They were accompanied by players participating in the tournament both the head of the delegation, Dr. Mahmoud Atia and his deputy, Mr. Walid Natik Ritha and a group of coaches from the Department of Physical Education and artistic activities at the University of Technology. The participating students expressed their joy in this for the effective participation of what touched them from keenness of the employees of the Department of Physical Education to provide the best means of the psychological and physical impact that has on the performance of the player, it is clear as the players got through the tournament to experience and learn about the skills of other players. It is worth mentioning that the university team has won fifth place in the game of badminton and seventh place in chess tournaments within the classification Iraqi universities for individual games , note that the number of universities participating in the tournament were thirty five universities.
