A Scientific Trip for the Students of Petroleum Technology Department/ 2nd Stage:

The Petroleum Technology Department arranged a geological scientific trip for the second stage students to the caves of Tar area, which lies south of Razzazah Lake within the administrative border of the province of Karbala on Tuesday, 04/07/2015.  This scientific visit comes as part of the training program prepared for the development of practical skills for students and promoting their scientific levels through what were studied of subjects such as general geology, geology and synthetic oil. The training has included activities such as how to direct the field work and the prepared programs such as (selecting the location on a map using a compass and GPS, and the work of geological section, picking up samples, descriptions of field samples and how to use the tools of geological field equipment). The students were accompanied by a number of faculty staff: Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ramadan (Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific affairs and postgraduate studies and Ms, Hiba Tariq and Senior Engineer Wsan Jalal and Engineer Mohammed Redha. Dr. Ramadan has praised the role of the security forces of Karbala Police Directorate, which provided protection in the workplace, as well as facilitate the students passing in theirs checkpoints where they were coordinating with Karbala police department by the governor of Karbala and the follow-up office by the Mayor of the holy city of Karbala, Dr. Hussein Jawad Ahmed Almenkoshi.
