In order to activate the terms of a memorandum of scientific understanding signed between the Petroleum Technology Department and the South Oil Company and the culmination of scientific and practical relationship between the two parties, a delegation from the South Oil Company visited the petroleum Technology Department, headed by Senior Chief of Geologists Majid Mohammed and Chief Engineers Qais Salih Mahdi on Sunday 8/11/2015.

The delegation was welcomed by the department head Prof. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jawad. The delegation was briefed during their visit on machines and laboratories in the department and then went to training and labs Centre where they were briefed on the traditional and programmed machines and workshops: cars, welding, blacksmithing, turning plumbing where they expressed their admiration for these workshops and the possibility of cooperation with the university in manufacturing parts needed by the company in the future.

The delegation was accompanied during their visit by the President of both petroleum engineering branch Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hassan and Director of the Research Unit in the department, Dr. Asawer Abdul Rasul.
