The Petroleum Technology Department in collaboration with the SPE Chapter Foundation has organized a scientific symposium in al-Rumaila Hall / the department building extension on Thursday 17/12/2015 in the presence of a number of the department's professors and engineers and a large number of primary and graduate students.

The seminar included a lecture by engineer Ali Hussein / Dutch Shell Company who talked about the discoveries of oil fields and the methods of drilling in the world, especially Iraq and the need to develop it in terms of the cost of drilling and the extent of its importance in economic terms and how to predict the oil reserves in the oil wells as well as comparing the oil reserves in the world to reserve in Iraq.

At the end of the seminar the head of the department, Dr. Mohammed Salih Aljawad presented a letter of appreciation to Mr. Ali Hussein and praised the efforts of all students (especially students of the fourth stage) who have contributed to the success of this seminar.

At the same time, the fourth stage students delivered an introductory lecture about the (SPE) institution for the students of the first stage in one of the department extension halls under the supervision of the president of the Petroleum Engineering Branch Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hassan and faculty member, Dr. Asawer Abdulresul.
