A Lecture on the Rehabilitation of Laboratories in the Department of Petroleum Technology

    The department of Petroleum Technology organized a lecture entitled "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories" given by faculty member Ms. Layla Latif Alwan from the department of Petroleum Technology on 04/09/2013 on the department conference room and in the presence of the Department President Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jawad and Scientific Assistant Dr. Asawer Abdul Rasul and a number of professors and employees of the department.

    At the beginning of the lecture and Ms Alwan illustrated the concept of the term (ISO), indicating the importance of getting the adoption of efficiency (ie recognition by a neutral and efficient civil laboratory) through policies and specific actions have also been focusing on the technical requirements that must be met to increase the efficiency of laboratory work of equipment laboratory and the surrounding environmental conditions and methods of work with sampling examination of the examined materials and an emphasis on the quality of the test results and the creation of the necessary reports.

   After that, the lecturer touched on the importance of the formation of technical and administrative committees to follow up the work and the specification application in the laboratories of the department and contacting one of rehabilitation destinations, and for example: the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control to evaluate the work done.  At the end of the lecture, the head of the department has praised the effort by the lecturer.
