Student Scientific Symposium for summer training in the Department of Petroleum Technology

     Under the slogan (summer training for students), the Department of Petroleum Technology organized the second student symposium for summer training on 3/4/2013 at the department conference room and in the presence of summer training official in the Oil Ministry (Mrs. Mrs. Arobba Hassan Abdullah), director of the Center for Training & factories (Dr. Saad Shadhir), the department president (Dr. Mohammed Al-Jawad) the scientific and administrative assistants, head of division, and a large number of faculty members and the university employees.

    The Seminar included a speech by the head of the department where he welcomed the esteemed attendees. Dr. Al-Jawad talked about the importance of the summer training for students so they can identify the nature of the work on the ground and be able to see the equipments that could be used in the future.  He also said that the training is integral to the academic side and cannot do without it, especially in the technological universities.

    The Session was chaired by the Committee Chairman for summer training (the department reporter), Dr. Ahmed Al-Ani who presented the choosing of 6 scientific reports for the department students from 200 reports achieved during the summer training in the past year where they are going to be presented in the symposium because of their scientific benefit to the department.

    The students: Anwar Kasim, Hala Faris, Raid Hasan, Mohamed Ahmed, Abdulmohimen Abas and Noor Aiad viewed their scientific reports in the field of training, whether in the middle oil company or the Iraqi Drilling Company or other companies, and then there was a discussion and submitting several proposals.

    Ms. Aroba stated: I wish of all universities to follow the Technological University (Oil Technology Department) through the establishment of such a seminars in all Iraqi universities. She also said: through this seminar, we can diagnose the negatives and positives in training sites and inform the oil companies about the obstacles that can occur so that the student can benefit greatly from the training serves in the future,  and will be taking all proposals through continuous cooperation with the Presidency of the Petroleum Technology Department. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jawad and Mrs. Arobaa Hassan submitted a written Acknowledgement to the participants for their efforts in the success of the symposium.
