Scientific Visit to Al-Faris General Company

A delegation from the University of Technology headed by Prof. Dr. Thamer Jassem Mohammed, a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, visited Al-Faris General Company in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to hold a joint meeting.
During the meeting, he delivered greetings from the President of the University of Technology Prof.Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, praising efforts to enhance fruitful cooperation between the university and companies of the Ministry of Industry to solve the technical problems facing our national industry.

During the meeting, both discussed the problems and technical constraints of some projects facing the company as well as preview the units of the company.

both agreed to find solutions by the working team with the expansion of the paragraphs of the memorandum of understanding to be signed between Al-Faris General and the Department of Chemical Engineering, as well as to ensure that there will be visits to be comprehensive to other departments in order to expand the horizons of scientific cooperation between the university and the company.
The working team includes the lecturers at the University of Technology Prof.Dr.Muna Khedear, Asst.Prof.Dr.Fadhel Abbas, Asst.Prof.Dr.Salah Salman and Asst.Prof.Dr. Luma Adnan.

Dissertation was published by the Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology, namely lect. Dr. Sera Salem Ahmed ,lect. assist. Hiba Abdul Rahim and.lect. Heba Anwar Abdullah, Joint Scientific Research on Mechanical Properties of Composite Materials Reinforced in Ceramic Minutes in Journal of Mechanical and Production Engineering, vol. 5, p. 29-25 of 2017.
The study examined the preparation of the overlapping materials of the polycrystalline methacrylate resin by the manual pliers. The mechanical properties of hardness, tensile properties (maximum tensile strength, elongation at fracture), shock (shock resistance and fracture strength) and shear stress were examined.
As for the mechanical properties, the overlapping material of Acrylic + 7% ZrO2 has the maximum hardness of Shore D (72.4). The maximum strength we obtained from (Acrylic + 7% ZrO2) is 33.75MPa, while the elongation at fracture decreases with the increase in the concentration of fillings And the lowest value we got
(Acrylic + 7% ZrO2) compared to other overlays.
The shock resistance was higher than
(83J / m2) (Acrylic + 3% ZrO2) compared with other composites. The fracture reliability of the layers increased with increasing Zirconia minutes and the highest value was 2.998MPa.m-1 / increased bending resistance and shear stress for overlapping materials with increasing oxide minutes Zirconia at 7wt% (81) Mpa and (1.8) Mpa.
