Professor Salim Khalifah Kazem of the Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology published a joint scientific paper, published in the journal of physics, in the Scopas Thomson Reuters classification:

(Numerical investigation of the effect of aortic root engineering on internal flow stresses on the mechanical heart valve structure of the binary diffuser).

The researchers found that the stresses in BMHV may be caused by pulse blood flow in the valve failure. In this study, Von Mesis stress is computed and compared to BMHV, which is placed in two types of aortic root geometry, which is the aortic root with non-sinuses Replicas and with identical sinuses, at different physiological blood flow rates.

The researcher found that the von Mesis strain when BMHV was placed in the aortic root with asymmetric sinuses up to 47% higher than BMHV in the aortic root with identical sinuses under the same physiological conditions. The velocity vectors were observed to be high and then lead to increased stress of von Mesis to BMHV and placed in the aortic root with asymmetric sinuses that can lead to valve failure.

Within the activities of scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, the third stage student / Operations Branch Raghad Ahmed Ismail lecture entitled:

(Design and manufacture of a system for the production of magnetized water preparation and diagnosis of magnetic composite materials nanoparticles as a substance for the extraction of heavy metals from water circles)

In the presence of the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Assistant Professor Dr. Jamal Mana Ali Al-Rubaie and Administrative Assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Zaidoon Mohsen Shakour and a number of heads of branches and teachers and employees and students section.

She explained that the water that passes through a specific magnetic field or placing the magnet inside or near for a period of time causes exposure to the impact of those magnetic fields to change many properties water, and the process of magnetization of water works to strengthen the properties of water by organizing shipments correctly Positive-negative-negative. A system for the disposal of acid, water soluble salts and electrical conductivity has been designed, and the system is a water collection tank and an isolated copper wire (S.WG19).

Chemical engineering department holds workshop

Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology holds a training workshop in writing thesis and presentations on Monday 27/11/2017 at Dar Al-Salaam Hall in the department.

The workshop includes two lectures, the first one presented by Lect.Dr. Alaa Abdul-hadi and was about the importance of presentation and making slides along with its contents, how to present them and deliver the information.

The second lecture was presented by Prof.Dr.Qusay Fadhel and deals with introducing the student how to write the thesis and the sequence of writing and avoiding the text quote to overcome the high rates of astrail as well as the presenting them to the  errors that occur while writing thesis.
