A lecturer at Biotechnology branch of Applied Sciences Department at the University of Technology gained a patent assist.Prof.Dr. Ali Abdurrahman Taha about studying the effect of adding natural herbs on the preparation of hydroxyl of highly purification as a nano biological material of husks and bones fish using a new chemical method in association assist.Prof.Dr. Asma Hadi Mohamed & Lec. Marwa Abdul Mohsen, both from Science Faculty at Mustansiriya University and assist.Prof.Dr. Majed Shannon Khalaf from Science Faculty at Al-Nahrain University, lec. Basem Mohammed Hassan Alwan from Science Faculty at the University of Babylon
The patent granted by Standardization and Quality Control of Planning Ministry.
The research included washing the using herbs (ginseng, acetate, flax, turmeric, chamomile, moon disc, rosemary and lunar disc husks) with well-distilled water by putting 100 g of these herbs in a glass container containing 300 ml ethanol solution % At room temperature for different time periods (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9) days the best time is 7 days. The output is then placed under a temperature effect of 70-80 ° C. At the end of the process, it has been studied the effect of adding the result of extract of these herbs to the properties of hydroxyl abetate nanoparticles was studied. Hydroxyl abetate was prepared. Fish husks and bones were collected and washed well in methanol alcohol as well as distilled water for the removal of suspended materials. It is then treated chemically with acid (H2SO4), while the remaining proteins are treated with sodium hydroxide, followed by a thermally calcined calcite for the preparation of hydroxyl abetate at internationally approved rates for medical applications.

A thesis discusses nanotechnology applications in drilling fluids at Petroleum Technology Department at the University of Technology for the student Dina Mahmoud Badr.
The research aimed to study using of Nano-Bentonite and nonmaterial as adding materials of drilling fluids to improve rheological properties and filtration and the number of productive barrels. It has been used two types of Bentonite and they are Iraqi bentonite and trade bentonite where it has been diagnosed the basic components (X-ray) device by Atomic Force Microscopy device.
