Continuing Education Center organizes control panels design and maintenance course
Continuing Education Center at the University of Technology organized a course on designing and maintening control panels from 2-6 September 2018 with the participation of trainees representing the Ministry of Commerce / General Company for Exhibitions and Services. The course aimed at teaching the participant how to design control panels in manufacturing facilities and means of periodic maintenance and avoid failures. It also includes highlighting the theoretical side of the control panels, the best way of designing the control panels for the manufacturing facilities, and the means of periodic maintenance of these devices, as well as avoiding the expected failures. The lecture was presented by Dr.Samer Bahjet from Production and Metal Engineering Department.
Instructor from Materials Engineering Department Obtains Patent
lect... Hanaa Arir Sameej from the Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology has a patent on:(--------)The patent included the use of thermal spray forming technique for the manufacture of ceramic tubes from Alumina pure Al2O3 With 5% of the magnesium oxide (MgO) and a thickness of 1-2 mm (mm62-83) on the base of the graphite as a rotary spindle, pipes were prepared for ceramic overlays of Alumina (Al2O3) with four different percentages (10%, 20%, 28% and 30%) of silica (SiO2) and ZlSiO4 (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%) with alumina (Al2O3) and TiO2. Structural analysis (x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy) and hardness to test the performance of spray formation for regular coating thickness for all samples.
Lecturer Published Scientific Research
Scientific assistant of the Department of petroleum Technology at the University of Technology, Dr. Adel Sharif Hammadi published a scientific research titled:((--------)) in Chemical Engineering and Advanced International Science Journal. The research aimed to improve the properties of fuel / diesel used for economic and environmental benefit to society and country.Asst.Prof.Dr.Adel Sherif Hammadi showed that the nano-emulsion (water in diesel) is a stable dispersion system consisting of diesel fuel, surfactants and water phase in which the nano tube emulsion due to its small droplets (20 - 200 nm) is a stable solution and gives its benefits in reducing the pollution of nitrogen oxides and solid particles suspended in the diesel engine. However, the quality of this fuel depends heavily on the method of preparation and the physical, chemical and stable properties of the emulsifier.
He added that the preparation of the nano-emulsion fuel was done by mixing rotar-stator using surface tensioning and surface response method to obtain the intervening variables to achieve the maximum stability of the emulsion, in which the researcher examined the characteristics of viscosity, flash point, thermal value, and nano-emulsion density compared to conventional diesel properties
