Electromechanical Engineering Department discusses a master's thesis design and construction a lightweight, self-guided aircraft surveillance purpose

 

Electromechanical Engineering Department discussed a master's thesis entitled Design and construction of a lightweight, self-guided aircraft for the purpose of surveillance by researcher Zahraa Fadel Ajaj.

The thesis aimed to design an electric aircraft with vertical take-off and landing without the need for a runway made of lightweight material.

The thesis included the use of the SolidWorks program to design the model, the Essences program for the purpose of analysis and simulation, and the Mission Planner program for the purpose of programming the aircraft. 

The researcher achieved distinguished performance and stable flight of aircraft in vertical and horizontal take-off.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Inaam Obaid Hassoun as Chairman, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Obaid Aftan as a member, Prof. Dr. Faten Noman Abdullah as a member, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamid Rajah as a member and supervisor. And Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adnan Abdel-Jabbar, member and supervisor 

The discussion concluded with the student being awarded a master’s degree with a very good grade.
