ERC Inaugurates a Lecture Entitled "Sustainability of Water Resources"
Environmental Research Center inaugurates a lecture in its cultural season entitled "Sustainability of Water Resources" for the study year 2020-2021. Lectures and employees of the center have attended it in (Green Hall) on Mon. 8th Feb. 2021.
The lecture has been given by the head of the center (Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed M. Jawad.
The lecture referred to the need for water resources as a result of growth in population, industrial development and investments that led to the lack of water resources. This lecture linked to the goals of sustainable development which was approved at the United Nations Conference of sustainable development in 2012. Many challenges would encounter supplying drinkable water, sewage and clean water for people.
At the end of the lecture, the lecturer encourages investment in researches and technology, especially those of developing technologies to confront the impacts of climate change and water scarcity. These can be developed in scientific research and long-term scientic plan for R.E.C. Next years.
