Technology participates in the Baghdad Festival, Capital of Arab Youth 2021

Under the patronage of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi, the Minister of Youth and Sports Adnan Darjal inaugurated, Friday, October 29, 2021, Baghdad Festival, The Capital of Arab Youth, in the presence of a number of Arab youth and sports ministers, guests and officials, which was held in the People's Open Hall in the capital, Baghdad.

The University of Technology participated in a delegation consisting of Prof. Dr. Jamal Jalal Dawoodd and asst.L. Zaid Al-Anbari, Director of the Diwan Affairs Department / Member of the Preparatory Committee for the Festival, Dr. Sari Tahsin Raishan, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department, and a group of employees and students of the University of Technology.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, valued the great confidence given to the city of Arabs, Baghdad, and its natural entitlement as a home for them, noting that the youth in our Arab countries are capable of facing challenges and creating a new future that meets their aspirations, hobbies and knowledge. Youth issues will be among the priorities of our national and Arab policies.

And Darjal added during his speech that we meet in Baghdad with peace, and we are united by love, tolerance and Arab brotherhood, and we celebrate our youth and pledge them to do everything that would enhance their capabilities, develop their talents and enable them to lead the nation. Distinguished youth and sports projects were developed, and one of the most important priorities was to return the Iraqi youth to his Arab and Islamic surroundings. We focused on purposeful development projects, at the forefront of which was the completion of youth and sports facilities to host sports, cultural, artistic and scientific tournaments and competitions.

The festival witnessed the establishment of a variety of activities, combining heritage and originality with Iraqi and Arab modernity. The first event was a great musical performance, led by Maestro Alaa Majeed, the Iraqi Folk Heritage Ensemble, through which he expressed the musical, cultural and artistic diversity of Iraqi heritage and modernity, followed by a presentation of the heritage of fashion. Al-Iraqiya and Al-Baghdadi were presented by a troupe from the Iraqi Fashion House, during which the activities of the traditional (Al-Jobi) dance included, while the Tunisian folklore group presented an artistic show showing the heritage of the Maghreb in general and Tunisia in particular.

On the other hand, the Iraqi artist Mustafa Al-Abdullah and the Iraqi artist Shatha Hassoun presented lyrical links, which witnessed a great interaction from the present audience and brought joy and happiness to all present.

The festival enjoyed a distinguished organizational and administrative level that blended with the depth of the capital, Baghdad, and the message of life that he wanted to convey to the whole world, which is that Baghdad is present and splendid with its hands always extended to all the Arab brothers.
