The Control and Systems Department opens its eleventh scientific exhibition for manufactured materials

The President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, opened the eleventh scientific exhibition in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Azad Rahim. It is an annual exhibition of materials manufactured by the department’s students and Lecturers. Dozens of students from all levels participated in it, including graduation projects presented by Fourth stage students.

The university president interacted greatly with the projects presented and said that the university’s exceptional interest in the exhibition comes from the importance of the machines and inventions displayed in it that serve the industrial renaissance in Iraq and provide important ideas for state institutions in the field of construction, control systems, medicine, etc. He added that the high level of the exhibition reflects the extent to which The development witnessed by the department and its teaching methods, stressing that the university presidency will communicate with the Control and Systems Department to honor projects that are superior to others, and he expected that competition would be fierce among a number of projects that attracted attention.

The exhibition was organized by the Automation and Robotics Division, and Dr. Bushra Kazem Aliwi, Director of the Division, said that there is a solid scientific committee that will evaluate the participating projects and select a number of them to honor their owners.

The exhibition included many manufactured materials that were presented at the exhibition and varied in their processing in all areas of manufacturing. Among the projects that attracted attention was what was presented by students Ali Nabil Jassim, Jamal Firas Abdul Karim and Ali Thaer, which is an electric wheelchair that is controlled by a helmet worn by a quadriplegic patient. The advantage of the chair is that it is made of inexpensive materials, unlike imported chairs that cost the state a lot of money. As for the students Yousef Ahmed and Ahmed Firas from the fourth stage, they succeeded in manufacturing a smart robot that can move objects according to colors by employing a special sensor for this purpose.
