A Ph. D. Dissertation was chaired by Prof. Dr. Hussein H. Karim/ Vicepresident for Administrative Affairs
Prof. Dr. Hussein H. Karim/ Vicepresident for Administrative Affairs chairs a discussion committee for Ph. D. dissertation in Civil Engineering/ University of Baghdad/ Student –Omer J. Mukhlif/ Geotechnique entitled " Spiral Piles Discharged Under the Influence of Static and Cyclic Loading in Gypsum Soil".
The research included manufacturing Lab. Model for Spiral Piles with different diameters ( 20-30-40)mm for gypsum soil with relative density 40%. The soil had been taken from AL Fallujah University which is a sand soil with gypsum content 30%. It's been underwent Lab. Experiment and chemical ones as Sulfates and Chlorides and other, beside Lab. Experiments of static, cyclic and drag checks.
They were applied to the soil in the cases of water immersion and the dry state, and for each type of substrates 20, 30 and 40 mm, and a model was made for comparison. The bearing capacity was measured in all models as well as theoretical analyzes were performed that were compared with the practical side. The theoretical values are found to be 15-20% more than the practical.
The discussion committee consisted of:
1- Prof. Dr. Hussein H. Karim/UOT- Civil Engineering.
