Dept. of Materials Engineering Discusses a Ph.D. Dissertation
A Ph.D. dissertation was discussed in Dept. of Materials Engineering at U.O.T. entitled:
"Utilization of Advanced Capillary Suspension Route to Prepare Structure Ceramic"
The thesis of the student, Mohamed Sattar Radhi, aimed to improve the compressive strength of highly porous geopolymer foams by controlling five factors: the content of silica, water, Portland cement, foaming agent and stability factor. Furthermore, these foams are reinforced with various nanomaterials. The study concluded that the mixture containing 0.5 K2O and reinforced with carbon nanotubes is a suitable sample for catalyst applications
The discussion committee consisted of: -
