Within the activities of scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology,CFD & Experimental Study the Effect of Nano Material on Drag Force of Iraqi Crude Oil Flow A practical study and application of CFD for the effect of adding nanomaterials on the traction forces in the process of transporting Iraqi crude oil Al Khwarizmi Hall in the department in the presence of the Head of Chemical Engineering Department. Jamal Mouna Ali Al-Rubaie, assistants, branch heads, and a number of my teachers, students and students. The student explained that the dependence of the Iraqi economy entirely on the oil sector, where 95% of the total income of Iraq from hard currency so as to reduce the costs of transportation due to a positive resource especially the present time of Iraq, which is going through difficult economic conditions, and therefore had to choose the safest means and the least cost to be used in Transfer of huge petroleum resources to the center of consumption. In spite of the high cost of laying pipelines, it is faster and cheaper in operation and maintenance and depends on the activation of high pressure at the beginning of the line to ensure the flow of oil material or derivatives, and of course, the speed of natural gas during the move is higher than crude oil or high viscosity materials. The friction between the oil material with the walls of the pipe reduces its speed and then requires a new stage of pressure, so there are about 50 to 250 km points of strengthening (pumps). It aims to find the best additive (drag reduction) to reduce friction losses for transporting crude oil.

The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering held a scientific seminar at Femtosecond Laser and Its Applications which included four scientific lectures. The head of the Department of Laser and Optical Electronics, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab Manshid said in his speech: "Our department, since its establishment and its branches (laser engineering branch and optical electronics branch), is striving to keep abreast of the development of laser applications. With this new day, our seminar includes four specialized scientific lectures in the field of laser. At the end of the seminar recommendations will be written to be a path of interaction and communication in order to serve the society and its institutions. In conclusion, the symposium recommended focusing on the government departments and the private sector, especially the Ministry of Health, on the importance of using femtosecond laser in medical and scientific applications, expanding the applied research for graduate students in the department and outside it in cooperation with the relevant institutions through mutual supervision, In this field, the Department of Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering has an important role in the development of the scientific potential of students in the preliminary and higher studies. It has opened workshops to introduce the importance of this laser and its applications in all magazines.
