Electrical Engineering Department grants PHD

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology grants PHD to its student Mohammed Fadhel Hassan for his thesis (Design aspects of the multi-frequency multiplexing frequency filter for modern communication systems) on Dijlah hall in the department. In this work, the researcher presented several aspects of the design of a multi-beam transmission filter used in wireless communication applications. The research methodology in the design of the proposed filters is the gradual step-by-step design, which means adopting the first design step followed by the second for a multi-beam transponder. The advantage of this method lies in the freedom of design in terms of control of each ring packet separately.Prof.Dr. Raad Sami headed the discussion commission, with the membrane of Asst. Prof.Dr. Thamer Rasheed,Asst.Prof.Dr. Hadi Taresh,Asst.Prof.Dr.Adeed Hassan and Asst.Prof.dr.Jamal Rasool, and supervised by Asst.Prof.Dr.Ali Sadiq and Asst.Prof.Dr.Emad Shihab.

Control engineering department holds seminar

The Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology held seminars for scholarships' students in the Graduate Hall at the presence of Asst.Prof.Dr. Hamed Mousa Hassan, deputy for Scientific Affairs and Asst.Prof Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Abdul Karim the deputy Administrative Affairs. Asst.Prof.Dr. Safana Modhar Raafat Head of Medical Engineering Branch, Asst.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Hassan,Asst.Prof.Dr.Salah Kazem Hamza and a group of lecturers and graduate students in the department. The researches of graduate students were reviewed and some notes were received by the lecturers. The seminars were held by Asst.Prof.Dr. Salim Khalifa Kadhim for his thesis:(Numerical and experimental investigation of the effect of induced vibrations on the mechanical heart valve). His research involved the use of bifurcated mechanical heart valves (BMHV) on a large scale to replace the original diseased heart valves. However, BMHV may fail for certain reasons such as plaque buildup and blood cell damage, leading to heart valve failure. Unknown causes of BMHV failure.Lect.Dr. Qusay Fadel Hassan presents a lecture on his thesis (Design of intelligent power controllers for intermittent communication systems)In this paper, a review was made of how energy is distributed in intermittent systems for the purpose of constructing a mathematical model capable of accurately representing energy consumption in all system segments. The benefit of this model is to build a strategy to control energy consumption in intermittent systems based on the frequency used in these systems as a control tool; to demonstrate the ability of the new model to represent the energy of intermittent systems, and built simulator under the MATLAB environment to work three intermittent systems (OT gate, MUX Circuit, and FA Circuit (The results of this simulator were compared with the results of the original circuits built under the OrCAD Cadence environment. The comparison process demonstrated the ability of the new model to give accurate readings of the energy consumption in the linear systems under different sizes and conditions

Within the activities of scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, the lecturer  Assist. Prof. Dr. Khaled Turki Rashed lecture entitled:

Polyvinyl hexafluoro PP membrane for use in direct contact membrane distillation system

POL (VINYLINDENE FLUORIDE- CO HEXANFLUOROPROYLENE) HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FOR MEMBRAN DISTILLATION

Al Khwarizmi Hall in the presence of the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Jamal Mouna Ali Al-Rubaie, assistants, branch heads, and a number of my teachers, students and students.

PolyThe polyphenols (fluoride, fluoride, hexaflopropiline), a hollow fiber membrane, was successfully synthesized by means of the phase reflection method. K-30 was used as an additive to form pores to improve morphology, structure and properties of the membrane. For membrane with good properties and be suitable for direct contact membrane distillation applications.

The morphological properties of all fibers were studied by means of electron microscopy scanning electron microscopy and also atomic force microscopy. Chakki was microvadvasive membrane joint and a slightly reduced contact angle was observed with increased pvp of (0% by weight to 9%). The volume of pores of hollow fiber increased significantly from 0.097 μm to 0.286 μm with addition (0 to 9) by weight. %. In the anesthetic solution, resulting in a marked increase in water flow from 4.2 to 22 kg / m2H at a feeding temperature of 80 ° C. And successfully modify formic acid on the membrane with 5 wt. % Proved from a contact angle that increased from 97.8 degrees to 109.9 degrees, increased fluid intake pressure from 2 to 2.4 bar. The best flow of interference to the membrane is modified with 9-watt. % About 23.9 kg / m 2 Buffer 80 ° C Feeding water feeding temperature. Optimization of operating parameters. Effect of process parameters, such as feeding temperature (40-80) ° C, feed flow rate (0.3-0.6 l / min), as well as feeding and concentration range from 3.5wt% to 5.0 wt. %.
