Building Engineering Department Grants MSC
Building and Construction Engineering Department at the University of Technology grants MSC in Geometrics Engineering to the student Anaam Gazi for her thesis "Constructions Damage Analysis Using the GPR Techniques"
The researcher, in her study, determines the accuracy and efficiency of ground radar in the inspection of buildings. The device has proved its ability to collect a variety of information concerning installations, monuments; land and roads. The radar was used to survey six samples of concrete slabs by a 1000 MHz antenna. The concrete tiles were first surveyed twice after the concrete was poured and then delivered for 30 days and again after 40% of the load of the slabs was inspected. After several tests Samples proved that ground radar gave high efficiency compared to ultrasound.
The committee discussion was chaired by Assc.Prof.Dr.Imzahim Adbul-Kareem and Assc.Prof.Dr.Hussein Abdul-Wahab and Prof.Dr.Wael Shawqi as members, Prof.Dr.Abdul-Razaq Taresh and Assc.Prof.Dr.Nesreen Salah as supervisors.
