Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology grants Higher Diploma to the student Haider Ahmed for his thesis "Improvement Demulsification of Iraqi Crude oil With Water Removal Demulsifiers in Oilfields".

The researcher made an overall survey on the techniques and methods that could be used to treat petroleum emulsions presently, the general way used for handling petroleum emulsion is the process of chemical additives, known as demulsifers. Nano materials are materials being most used for boosting oil restoration. As well, nanoparticles are a possible option to improve oil extraction. This project discusses whether the collection of demulsifiers and nanomaterials can supply a much stability emulsion than demulsifiers only. Two parts of experimental study have been carried out in this search.

The discussion committee was chaired by Asst.Prof.Dr.Talib Mohammed, Lect.Dr.Shrooq Talib as a member and Prof.Dr.Thamer Jassim as supervisor.

This search is targeted to present an overall survey on the most eminent techniques and methods that could be in used treating petroleum emulsions, Presently, the generality used way for handling petroleum emulsion is the process of chemical additives, known as demulsifers Considered nanomaterials are materials being most used for boosting oil restoration. As well, nanoparticles are a possible nominee to display another resolution to get better oil recovery. This project discusses whether the collection of demulsifiers and nanomaterials can supply a much stability emulsion than demulsifiers only. Two parts of empirical study have been carried out in this search.
