 Electromechanical Engineering Department holds an introductory lecture about graduate follow-up unit titled (faculty requirements towards the Graduation Follow-up Unit). The lecture was given by Dr. Mohammed Jawad Mohammed, a lecturer at the Department.
 The lecture began by presenting an introductory profile of the unit which was recently opened in the department, including the goals, the annual plan, the completed activities and faculty requirements.
 The lecture concluded with a set of recommendations and tasks and some important requirements to support the work of the unit and the implementation of the annual plan by the teachers.

The Department of Student Activities at the University of Technology starts its activity for the 2017-2018 sports season with the opening of the university's football championship for students on November 13th at the University Stadium with the participation of 16 teams representing the scientific and engineering departments.
 Asst.Prof.Dr.Najah Salman, head of the department, said that the first part of the new season will include many sports activities begin with soccer in which the 16 team where divide into four groups: the first group includes teams of Mechanical Eng.department, the x-championship holder, laser and Optical electronics Eng. department, Chemical Eng.department and Oil technology Eng. department.The second group includes teams of Electricity Eng. Department, electro-mechanical Eng. Department, Communications Eng. department and Control and systems Eng. Department.The third group includes teams of Production and metals Eng. Department, Materials Eng. Department, Computer Eng. department and Applied Science. Department, while the fourth group includes Building and Construction Eng.department , Architecture Eng. Department, Biomedical Eng.department and Computer Science department.
 
 Salman added that the opening round of this championship will be on Monday, Nov.13th,2017 between Mechanical Eng.department and Oil technology Eng. Department then laser and Optical electronics Eng. Department and Chemical Eng.department.
 The first round continues the next day with two matches of Electricity department and Control Eng. Department then Electro-mechanics Eng.department with Communications Eng. Department.
 On Wednesday Production Eng. Department against Materials Eng. Department then, Applied Science with computer Eng. department.
 On Thursday Building and Construction Eng. Department will face Architecture Eng. Department then, Biomedical Eng.department and Computer Science department. The first round ends on Nov.,28th , 2017.
 The head of the student activities department said that the quarter-finals will be held on Sunday, December 3, with the first of the first group meets with the first of the third group, the first of the third with the second of the second group, and on the next day, the first of the second group with the second of the fourth group, and the first of the fourth group with the second of the second group. While the semi-finals will be held on Wednesday 6th of Dec,.while the final will be determined at the time.
 The mechanical engineering team was crowned the University of Technology Technological Football League by winning four goals against one goal for the Department of Electrical Engineering in the final of the season.

The students of the Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology participated in the program of Zain Telecommunications Company which is located in the sections of the company.
 The Assistant Professor Dr Azad Rahim Kareem ,The head of department pointed out: The students of the department participated in a training program for Zain Telecom by organizing a training course for a number of the first students to support them and enable the young people to gain experience and obtain certificates that qualify them to complete their careers.

The English Language Center at the University of Technology announced the holding courses with the start of the new academic year 2017/2018, the general conversation course which begins on Sunday 8/10/2017 and lasts for ten days
 Its curriculum includes a study of the latest curricula and modern teaching methods,
 The basic level course starts from Sunday 15/10/2017 and lasts two weeks. It aims to learn the basics of English using the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, watching films and programs that help in communicating information easily, 2017 to 2/11/2017.

The English Language Center at the University of Technology hold of a workshop entitled Break The Ice for 9-10 / 10/2017.
 The director of the center,Dr. Mona Abdul Hussein: The workshop aims to break the barrier of fear in speaking English, and it helps to encourage participants to speak and the ability to hold conferences and workshops in English.
