English language center is holding a course for the university stuff to translate the departments' website. The course will start on Dec.3, 2017 till Dec., 7, 2017 and includes the basics of translation, its steps and types, English and Arabic sentence structure characteristics coherence to create unity of meaning and exercise news translation.

Technology Conference held its third International Scientific Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development

The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology held the Third Scientific Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development for the period from 15-16 / 11/2017 at the University Theater Hall, in the presence of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Amin Douai Thamer and his deputy  for scientific affairs. Dr. Sami Abu Al-Nun Ajil, Governor of Baghdad, Mr. Atwan Al-Atwani, Dr. Ibrahim Bahr Al-Uloum, Director General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi and a number of heads of scientific and engineering departments and university faculty .

The conference included multiple themes in environmental pollutants, environmental management and sustainability of natural resources and water resources.

The conference began with the recitation of any of the Holy Quran, after reading Al-Fatihah on the lives of the martyrs of Iraq and playing the national anthem.

The President of the University of Technology dewring his  speech he said: The environment is of great importance in our daily lives. The concept of the environment has become more prevalent in society than ever before and everyone has a responsibility to protect and treat it. The environment has many challenges. In recent years, Across the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and the drought that appeared on our country and a lot of desertification, which has obvious effects, as well as the existence of a lot of problems in how the recycling of waste and how to address, stressing that environmental issues are inevitable by the combination of many factors that contributed to the list of priorities Strategies of sustainable development and the size of pollution in contemporary life is more serious in its influential dimensions cause the increase in size and breadth of its geographical scope to threaten human life and various environmental resources and all living organisms, adding to the rich reconciling between sustainable development by the conservation of natural resources on the other hand, Of the existence of a joint effort between all state institutions, including the Ministry of Oil, Industry, Minerals and Health and falls on the Council of the province of Baghdad in about a year in addressing many of the problems that must be clear and clear through the research to be delivered at this conference.

Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hassan Attieh, Deputy  for Scientific Affairs, delivered the opening lecture by Prof. Ibrahim Bahr Al-Uloum, former Minister of Oil and member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives entitled Oil Industry between Environmental Sustainability and Development Requirements. The proceedings of the first scientific session were chaired by Prof. Dr. Riad Hassan Hadi, (5) Research included the first lecture of the researcher Dr. Ali Abdul-Zahra Al-Lami, Advisor to the Environment and Marshlands Advisory Board of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on the accession of the Marshlands to the list of For the World Heritage, a guarantee for its sustainable development and the second by Mr. Luaa al-Obeidi from the Directorate General for the Protection and Improvement of the Environment in the center area entitled Environment in the Islamic Perspective between the  holly Koran and Sunnah, and the third by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Barbouti titled

"Environmental Site Assessment for Polluted Locations in Iraq"

The fourth lecture was given to the working team for sustainable development in the Ministry of Planning and under the supervision of Dr. Hussein Ali Dawad entitled "Renewable Energy and its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development". The fifth lecture was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Katouf Jassim from the Department of Earth Sciences, Which qualified them in the production of electricity from wind power, and the lectures of the second day included 50 research distributed to the halls of the Center for Environmental Research in the Green Hall. The first session was chaired by Dr. Fikrat Majid Hassan and Assistant Professor Dr. Saadi Mohammad Zaher. The course included 6 lectures. The second session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Tarash Zaboun and Assistant Professor Dr. Sadeq Ahmed Qassem and discussed 6 researches, all discussed the topics of sustainable environment and wastewater treatment.

The first session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Faris Hamoudi Al-Ani and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Amin. The discussion included 6 researches and the second session under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi Azzouz and Assistant Professor Basim Hashim Faraj, They were all in English. In the halls of the blue hall, the first session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Saadoun Salman and Assistant Professor Dr. Halim, during which they discussed 7 researches, while the second session was chaired by Dr. Zineb Bahaa Mohamed.Dr. Rana Riad Khalil discussed 6 researches, either the workshop hall was the first session presided by Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Abdul Hussein and assistant lecture  Taleb Kamel Abd  discussed during the seventh research and the second session under the chairmanship of Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mehdi Preuti and lecture  Afaf Abdul Rahman Ayoub as a Rapporteur included a discussion of 6 research sessions In the end of the conference, the final speech was delivered by the Director of the Environmental Research Center, Assistant Professor Abdulhamid Mohammed Jawad. The certificates were distributed to all researchers participating in the conference proceedings.

         President of the University of Technology Prof. Amin Douai Thamer inaugurates the new sports season 2017-2018 with the starting of the university's championship of football for students, in the stadium of the university on Tuesday, the thirteenth of November 2017 with the participation of sixteen teams representing the scientific and engineering departments and the presence of a number of heads of engineering departments.

The opening begins with a review of participating teams in the championship, and then  say the championship's  swear, then the President of the University allows  opening of the competitions, indicating in a speech the importance of sport and its distinctive role for the Iraqi people, It has its status at the university level indicating that the university presidency supports the establishment of various student activities, including sports and various games.

The mechanical engineering team began in the championship with a big victory verses the oil technology team with six goals without a response in the game played on the university stadium within the first group.

The players rotate to score the winning goals Ali Assad "3 goals",  Hallo Ghazi "2 goals" and Mostafa Hadi one goal only.

In the second match in the same group, the chemical engineering team wins over the team of laser engineering and optical electronics with three goals to two goals.

Assist.Prof.D. Najah Salman the director of department of student activities at the University of Technology says: the first part of the sports season will include many sports championships starting with football competitions, which were distributed to the 16 teams participating in four groups, the first group includes teams of: the previous title holder mechanical engineering departments, Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Technology Department.

The second group includes teams of Department of: Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Communication Engineering and Control and Systems Engineering Department.

 The third group includes teams of Department of :Production Engineering and Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Engineering.

The fourth group includes teams of Department of: Building and Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Computer Sciences.

The mechanical engineering team was crowned with University championship title Football for students  After its  winning on the Department of Electrical Engineering four goals against one goal in the final of the last season

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, met on Sunday 19/11/2017 the heads of the engineering and scientific departments and their assistants and some of the advanced staff at the conference hall of the Department of Construction and building  Engineering.

Prof.Dr. Amin Douai Thamer gave a speech in which he discussed the mechanisms of the University's independence project since the beginning of its first steps and what are the powers granted to the university.

Dr. Alaa  Abd Al-Hassan Attiyah, The Deputy for Scientific Affairs at the university of technology ,  spoke about the work of the committees that were formed within the project of the independence of the university and the powers granted to the University of Technology other than the other universities. Research and development, as well as the work of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up and the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations.

At the end of the meeting, some of the attendees inquired about some of the issues and explained to them, Prof. Amin Douai Thamer, answering all the queries that were raised.
