Two lecturers from the Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology. (Dr.Ahmed Zine El Abidine and Lect. Jabar Hussein Mohamed) have published a scientific research paper entitled "Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of Aluminum Sheets in Tungsten Electrode Protected by Inert Gas and Catheterization Treatment" in the Engineering Journal of Baghdad University
The study also discussed the attempt to improve the mechanical properties of an alloy of aluminum alloy soldered by the welding method of the tectonized ballast protected by inert gas through surface hardening using ball extrusion technique. Three times of exposure were used and the surface of the metal was examined to show the phase changes and changes during the welding process. And measuring the hardness of microstructure. The results showed an improvement in the properties of the weld by increasing the period of exposure to the tossing of the balls.

The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology has organized a panel discussion at which the assist. lecturer Zahra Zahrao Farhan has delivered a lecture about the hydrolysis of hydrocarbons by microorganisms on the blue hall on Wednesday 31/5/2017.

The researcher has pointed to the oil pollution, which is one of the most dangerous types of pollution on environmental systems, as there are many research conducted to eliminate environmental pollutants caused by the continuous accidents of oil tankers and oil pipelines. More recently, microorganisms have been used to get rid of oil contaminants.
Bacteria are one of the best microorganisms in biodegradation because of their ability to exploit the carbon compounds in oil as their source of energy and they have a great ability to adapt to the medium in which they live through their enzymatic system.
