A lecturer from Civil Engineering Department at the University of Technology participates in the discussion of PhD thesis at Al-Mustansiriya University

Asist. Prof. Dr. Ali Majeed Khudair from Civil Engineering Department participated in Ph.D. dissertation discussion committee tagged: (Evaluation of the performance of thin asphalt mixtures containing sustainable materials) at Al-Mustansiriya University

Within the framework of cooperation between universities to spread the scientific culture, Asist. Prof. Dr. Ali Majeed Khudair, the director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department UOT, in the discussion committee of Ph.D. for the student (Yasser Mahdi Issa) from Engineering College at Al-Mustansiriya University tagged:

(Evaluation of the performance of thin asphalt mixtures containing sustainable materials)

The main objective of this study is to characterize the performance of TAO blends designed in a sustainable superbave method that were evaluated through volumetric and mechanical testing methods and durability to achieve the objectives of this research. Available local materials including asphalt bond 40-50 were used with three types of nominal maximum aggregate volume NMAS is 12.5 mm, 9.5 mm, 4.75 mm and the filler then developed three statistical models using the SPSS program to predict the indirect tensile strength, rut depth, and indirect tensile strength ratio of the domestic TAO that includes specific waste polymers i.e. CRM and LDPE. Therefore, the need for a critical approach to TOA design is highly required to obtain TAO of maximum quality

Engineering College / Al-Mustansiriya University granted a letter of thanks and appreciation to the members of the discussion committee.

A lecturer from English Language Center at UOT publishes a paper titled "Difference between Actual Teaching Behaviors, Preparation Programmes, and Visions Concerning Teaching for the Iraqi Prospective English Teachers" in an international magazine

Lecturer Yasein Mashhoot Taher from English Language Center at UOT published a paper titled "Difference between Actual Teaching Behaviors, Preparation Programmes, and Visions Concerning Teaching for the Iraqi Prospective English Teachers" in an international magazine "Talent Development and Excellence" that classified within Scopes Q2 containers

Taher indicated that the objective of this study is to explore the difference between actual teaching behaviors, preparation programmes, and visions concerning teaching. Taher has found that there is a difference between what students of the English language departments study in their preparation program, and their views on successful teaching, and actual behaviors in the classroom.

Thus, the researcher suggested a set of recommendations such as early organization between schools and teacher preparation institutions, the integration of teachers who are experts in the process of preparation courses trying to fill the gap between implementation and theory, and the need to study the specific reasons for the difference between implementation and theory and improve programs of teacher preparation by specialists.

A lecturer from Civil Engineering Department at UOT publishes a paper in an international journal

Lecturer Ziad Majeed Abed from Civil Engineering Department at UOT, published a scientific paper titled: ((Investigating the Various Sustainable Variables of Composite Ferrocement Mortar Using Residual Rock Wool Fibers))

In the American Journal ((Materials in Civil Engineering)), which is published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), that has four year impact factor of more than 3 and is classified within the Clarifate and Scopus Q1 containers.

In this paper, it is studied the effect of using rock wool fibers remnants on the ferrocement properties. Rock wool (made from basalt) was used as a partial substitute for fine aggregates in different proportions to study its effect on the different properties of the virus and to explore the possibility of producing sustainable cement concrete. It has been an improvement in compressive strength, bending strength and absorption despite consideration of sustainability in the materials used in the research.
