University of Technology Receive Ministerial Committee
Asst.Prof.Dr.Hussien Alaa, head of Materials engineering department at University of Technology accompanied with his scientific deputy Lect.Dr.Mohanned Najah and administrative deputy Asst.Prof.Dr.Nahidh Mahmood and number of the faculty received the ministerial committee of research and development office at the ministry of high education and scientific research on Monday oct.26.2020.
The visit aimed to acquaint with the department readiness achieve the requirements to open a new branch of biological materials and artificial compensations in materials field.
The visit included a field tour to evaluate the labs and studying rooms and its suitability, conformity and the required standard for creating the branch.
It is worth noting that the committee praised the department leadership and the authorities at the university in their efforts to provide the best specialized labs and quality devices that contribute in supporting the academic studies.

The student demonstrated a new method for producing green diesel and biofuel from cracking algae oil.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Ali (Chair), the membership of each of Prof. Muhammad Ali Matar, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar, and the supervising member, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Jaz.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Jamal Ali Al-Rubaee, head of chemical engineering department at university of technology chaired a discussion committee at Al-Nahren University to grant the student Karar Haider the MSC.
In the thesis, it was approved that an electrochemical oxidation process that includes effective direct and indirect reactions to remove the cochineal dye from textile wastewater and it was confirmed by tests of UV-spectrophotometer and chemical oxygen demand (COD).
The discussion committee was chaired by Asst.Prof.Dr.Jamal Ali Al-Rubaee, and the membership of Asst.Prof.Dr.Yasser Emad, Lect.Dr.Salim Mohammed and Asst.Prof.Dr.Sarmad Talib.

Dr.Alaa praised the efforts of the central committee to facilitate the exam process and provide comfortable environment for student by taking into consideration the exceptional circumstances that the country going with as a result of Corona pandemic.

Lecturer Raad Suhail Ahmad Adnan, from Materials Engineering Department at UOT, obtained an Appreciate Certificate (ToT) from the IREX organization, during his passing the trainers preparation course that was held in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the IREX organization to prepare e-learning trainers On the Zoom platform, with the participation of Iraqi and American lecturers.
The course included three axes, which are the basics of e-learning and working on e-learning programs and remote meeting programs.
