The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, accompanied by the Vice  President for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Dahd, met with representatives of the engineers

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, accompanied by the Vice  President for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Dahd, met with representatives of the engineers on Wednesday 9/17/2020 in his office.
During the meeting, the reason for the interruption of engineering allocations for the remaining months of the current year was explained by the assistant director of the financial affairs department at the university, where the representatives of the engineers expressed their thanks and gratitude to the presidency of the university for the high transparency in clarifying all matters related to the subject.
The university president promised to disburse all their dues as soon as the budget is approved for the remainder of the current year and retroactively after obtaining the fundamental approvals for this, and his sovereignty expressed his support for the engineering sector at the university for what it constitutes an important human resource in building a better future for
the university

A lecturer from Communication Engineering Department at UOT participates in the discussion committee of MSc via distance

The lecturer (Assist. Prof. Dr. Thamer Muhammad Jamil) from Communication Engineering Department at UOT participated in the remote discussion committee for MSc student (Hassan Farouq Radif), Electronic Engineering Department / Engineering College – Al- Nahrain University and Communications, for his thesis. "Frequency Domain Adaptive Equalization of Multipath Fast Fading in OFDM Communication" The discussion took place on Sunday 6/9/2020 at Dijla hall in the college.

The discussion committee consisted of:

Prof. Dr. Durgham Muhammad Jamil (the head).

Assist. Prof. Dr. Thamer Muhammad Jamil (Member)

Dr. Muhammad Hussain Ali (Member)

Assist. Prof. Dr. Manal Jamil Abdul Amir (Supervisor)

In a typical OFDM communication system, several techniques exist to reduce the effects of symbolic interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI), the guard interval and Periodic prefix, especially orthogonal. However, all of these techniques are not sufficient in rapid dimming channels of multipath. The main objective of this paper is to explain the method of channel estimation in a consistent manner the frequency domain is based on complex number algorithms and is applied in the frequency domain, where this is the indicated method promises to reduce the complexity of the system.

In this thesis, the study and implementation of the channel estimation method is carried out in a proper manner in the frequency domain of a system

Wireless Communications, (OFDM). The method studied is based on the imposed training sequential algorithm (STS) and least iterative square adaptive algorithm (RLS) with waveform modulation schemes in different ways.

The most common method for channel estimation in an OFDM system is adaptive equalization estimation implemented in the time domain the calendar printed in the frequency space of the signals passing through the fast dimming channels in Multiple communication systems split the orthogonal frequency

The discussion resulted in the success of the student and the award of MSC with a satisfied grade after making all the modifications that were developed by the discussants.

Lecturer from Materials Engineering Department Discuss MSC

Asst.Prof.Dr. Sarmad Emad, a lecturer at the materials engineering department at university of technology, has participated in the discussion committee along with Prof.Dr.Mohammed Moslih as a chairman and Asst.Prof.Dr.tawfiq Wasmi as a meber, Asst.Prof.Dr. Yassir Khalel and Lect.Dr.Hamza Mostafa as members and supervisors to award the MSC to the student Zahir Intisar for his thesis "Energy dissipation behaviors and mechanical characteristics of hybrid concrete subjected to dynamic loading" which was held at discussion hall/ Collage of Engineering/ Al-Mustanseriyah University on Thursday,sept.15.2020.

In this work, a hybrid composite concrete is prepared by adding two types of fibers steel and polypropylene. Firstly, two groups of concrete samples made by incorporating steel and polypropylene fibers individually at different volume fractions (0.25, 0.5, 0.75.1%).

This work designates the effects of hybrid fibers and its modules on concrete dissipation energy under various dynamic loadings (ultrasonic pulse velocity UPV, impact strength) and measured as a hybrid and individual fiber concrete.

New concrete properties results showed that adding fibers to the concrete mixture may cause a significant reduction in the fresh state properties of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC). Steel fibers reinforced concrete (SFRC) always show better results in all the strength types than polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete (PFRC), while for the hybrid fibers reinforced concrete (HFRC) group shows an intermediate value between the fore mentioned  groups related to conventional concrete.

The discussion was conducted in a scientific atmosphere and the student was awarded MSC with (fulfilled) after completing all amendments that were put by the discussants.
