The President of the University of Technology discusses with the Minister of Industry and Minerals mechanisms of communication and cooperation to support academic and industrial institutions

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, discussed with the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Prof. Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, during his visit to the Ministry of Industry with his accompanying delegation, which included the experienced Prof. Dr. Shaker Ahmed Al-Mashhadani, the Assistant for Scientific Affairs to the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dahad, and the Director of the Office of Scientific Consultations and engineering at the university, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saadoun Salman, and in the presence of the Director General of the Industrial Research and Development Authority, Dr. Ahmed Younes, where they discussed the necessary mechanisms to open channels of communication and cooperation between the ministry and the university.

During the meeting, the two parties indicated the desire of the two sides to cooperate in the advisory aspects, as there are works in companies that need consulting offices to provide technical consultations and designs in addition to the academic and research aspects, pointing to the need for coordination between the university and the Industrial Research and Development Authority of the Ministry to mutually benefit from the capabilities available to both parties. As well as the reorganization of the research centers in the Commission and the development of centers in engineering specializations, in a way that contributes to opening broader areas of cooperation with the university that has expertise that benefits industrial work at a time when the university needs industry capabilities to support its outputs.

For his part, the Minister of Industry stressed the necessity of conducting on-site visits for students at the university to the ministry's laboratories and companies in coordination with the Industrial Research and Development Authority to determine the companies and laboratories that will be visited and the practical application in them, pointing to the necessity of linking work between the ministry and the university in a way that achieves benefit for both sides, directed by the nomination of a representative On behalf of the university to be a member within the ministry's opinion board, and to nominate a representative from the ministry to be a member within the university's advisory board.

For his part, the President of the University of Technology expressed the university's desire to achieve a large and broad cooperation with the ministry, pointing out that the university was established for an urgent industrial need in the country and has contributed since its establishment to the graduation of many cadres, pointing to the importance of site visits for teachers in the companies and laboratories of the ministry to acquire the necessary expertise and transfer it to Students, expressing readiness for fruitful cooperation with all the Ministry's companies and harnessing capabilities to serve the national industry.
