The administrative Affair assistant to the head of the Department of Production and Minerals Engineering, Dr. Omar Hashim Hassoun, participated in the international workshop, which was tagged:

The Role of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering in Defense Technology

Established by Koya University in Iraqi Kurdistan, College of Engineering / Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering 2023, in the presence of a number of professors inside and outside Iraq.

The administrative assistant delivered a lecture entitled:

  Numerical Modeling and Analysis of the Ballistic Impact of Laminate Composite Armor using Abaqus FEA Software

The lecture dealt with the active role of composite materials in industrial applications, especially defense applications such as the manufacture of ships, shields and aircraft parts. Emphasis was placed on numerical modeling and simulation using Abaqus finite element programs in designing and analyzing composite materials, especially the failure modes that these materials experience when exposed to high-velocity projectiles.
