Oil and Gas Engineering Department University of Technology Football Championship for students
The team of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department retained the title of University of Technology Student Football Championship, which was organized by the Student Activities Department at the university, after its victory over the team of the Electric Engineering Department by a penalty shootout difference of four goals to two, after regular time ended in a draw with one goal for each in the final match. Which took place at the university stadium in the presence of the Assistant President of Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, and a number of heads of engineering departments, university lecturers and students.
The match was led by referees Yasser Hassan, Walid Nateq, Ahmed Mahmoud, and supervisor Mustafa Mahdi.
The Oil team scored the first goal through the player Ali Fadel, and Electric Engineering team equal score by the player Aws Ali, ending the first half of the match (1-1), then penalty kicks are done to end the match for Oil team 4-2, both Ali Fadel and Saleh Mahdi scored for oil team, Jaafar Salah and Arshad Hassan as goalkeeper. While Rasoul Sabah failed to score the first kick, Hussein Ali and Aws Ali scored for Electric team while Sajjad Ali and Jawad Kadhim missed the 3ed and 4th kicked.
Assistant President of Administrative Affairs distributed awards for both team players, as well as to the match referees and members of the Football Committee in the Student Activities Department. Murtada Odah from the Civil Engineering Department award as a scorer, who scored 15 goals. Saleh Mahdi from the Oil and Gas Engineering Department awarded as a best player. Hani Ali from the Electrical Engineering Department awarded as the best goalkeeper, and the Chemical Engineering Department team won the Ideal Team Award. Then cups were distributed to the teams of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department, which won first place, Electric Engineering C won second place, Civil Engineering Department won third place, and Mechanical Engineering Department won the third place.
