The Materials Engineering Department holds a course on safety, civil defense, and risk management

The Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology held a course for the department’s members entitled Safety, Civil Defense, and Risk Management.

The lectures in the course were given by the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Laith Wadah Ismail, who discussed how to prepare an emergency plan in the department and form work teams to manage crises.

Among the main objectives of the emergency plan are to reduce risks as much as possible and increase the response with a rapid, effective and positive reaction if a disaster occurs, an accurate assessment of the main risks that may be exposed to, a realistic awareness of the resources and procedures that actually exist within the department to deal with risks and the extent to which they can be increased and improved within the budget and functional structure, and a commitment to continuing... Enhancing plans and implementing them into the future while ensuring that preparedness remains effective and operational.

The course concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation to the lecturers and course participants by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Jawad Kazem Aliwi for their efforts.
