The Director of the Quality Assurance Department at the University of Technology participates in a panel discussion at the American University about academic accreditation.

The Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Zainab Nasser Jameel, participated with a number of university lectuerers in a panel discussion entitled Academic Accreditation and International Standards in the Management of Educational Institutions, which was held at the Institute of Continuing Education at the American University in Baghdad.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of quality systems in education, the issuance of many international standards, and the overlap between them and accreditation, and to be a forum that brings together experts, professionals, and workers in the fields of quality and accreditation.

It covered introductions to the concepts of educational quality and modern international quality systems and the extent of their application in Iraq, a presentation of international specifications that dealt with university quality management, a presentation of institutional accreditation standards, and the similarities and differences between the QMS ISO 900:2015 system.

And the Educational Institutions Management System EIMS.SO 21001.2018

Highlighting the fundamental similarities and differences between academic accreditation and modern ISO specifications, and discussing whether applying the specifications in educational institutions is an alternative to institutional or programmatic accreditation and the extent of the need for universities to apply the following specifications: ISO 5004, ISO 4500, and ISO 14001.
