Architecture Department organize a workshop about the role of (sustainable architectural practice in creating a better world)

Architecture Engineering Department at the University of Technology in cooperation with the Architecture Engineering Department at the University of Karbala, held a workshop entitled “Architecture and Sustainable Development Goals: The Role of Sustainable Architectural Practice in Creating a World better".

It is prepared and organized by. Assist. Prof. Dr. Anwar Sobhi Ramadan, under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Architecture Engineering in The University, and in the presence of a number of the department’s faculty staff and a group of the department’s students for preliminary and postgraduate studies within the EMAC Youth Architectural Assembly, The workshop aimed to clarify the role of young sustainable architectural practices in creating a better world.

The workshop addressed how to direct innovation and creativity towards sustainable solutions to achieve sustainable development goals and enhance the quality of life, through a group of lectures presented by a group of faculty staff from Architecture Department at both the Universities.

The workshop included several lectures, the first delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Anwar Sobhi Ramadan and, Assist. Lec. Zainab Abdul- Hadi Dawood, entitled “Sustainable Development Goals and their Link to Youth Work,” and the second lecture was delivered by lec. Dr. Ata'a Hassan Abood, entitled “A Review of Young Architectural Practices towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.” The third lecture was delivered by Lec. Dr. Raed Fawzi Mohammed Amin and Assist. Lec. Saba Jabbar Kahdim, entitled “The National Policy for the Sustainability of Urban Development Projects"
