Oil and Gas Equipment Branch organize a workshop about the culture of rationalizing water consumption and water pollutants

Oil and Gas Equipment Branch in Electromechanical Engineering Department at the University of Technology organized a workshop entitled The Culture of Rationalizing Water Consumption and Water Pollutants in Al-Kindi Hall, in the presence of a number of lecturers and students of the department.

The workshop managed by the Head of Oil and Gas Equipment Branch, Prof. Dr. Raheq Ibrahim Ismail, and it is aimed to spread the culture of rationalizing water consumption to achieve sustainable development.

The workshop included several pivotal:

  • Highlighting techniques for rationalizing water consumption.
  • Factors leading to water waste.
  • The growing population and the impact of water cuts.

The workshop presented a set of statistics and reports that illustrate the extent of water risks facing Iraq and the region, and called for adopting effective strategies to rationalize water consumption.

The workshop also addressed an inexpensive technique of friendly eco for using fruit peels to remove copper from Iraqi well water for safe use for human or agricultural consumption.

During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Raheq Ismail illustrate the importance of rationalizing water consumption in the current period, and stressed the importance of abandoning daily habits that may lead to wasting large quantities of water in vain, depending on the scientific sources and daily dealing with the waste of water, while she explained the methods of enough rationalization.
