The Mechanical Engineering Department Organizes a Field Visit to SAS Lexus Automotive Services
As part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering's efforts to enhance practical skills and connect students to the realities of advanced industry, the Department organized a field visit for third-year students to SAS Lexus Automotive Services in Baghdad.
The visit was supervised by the Head of the Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hadi Jabr, and monitored by the Head of the Automotive Engineering Department, Dr. Sajida Faris Sabri. The students were accompanied on their field visit by Assistant Professor Dr. Aqeel Zaki Mahdi, Asst.L. Muhannad Mohsen Marah, and Asst.L. Iman Abdul Sahib.
The scientific delegation was received by the company's Maintenance Director, Engineer Ahmed Thabet, and Occupational Safety Officer, Mr. Ali Firas. They provided a detailed explanation of the company's departments, starting with the luxurious showroom housing the latest Lexus models, continuing through the sales services, and ending with the maintenance workshops equipped with the latest diagnostic and repair technologies. The students enjoyed a comprehensive practical experience characterized by a highly professional atmosphere. They expressed their great admiration for the advanced infrastructure and high-level organization, which reflects the spirit of innovation and Japanese quality. They expressed their benefit from this unique experience, which provided them with a tangible opportunity to connect theoretical concepts with practical application in the field of modern automotive engineering.
This visit is part of a series of scientific activities that the Department of Mechanical Engineering is keen to organize on an ongoing basis, with the aim of developing students' skills and enhancing their readiness to integrate into the job market, in line with the latest developments in the global engineering industry.
