A lecturer from Nanotechnology Research and Advanced Materials Center at UOT participates in a  scientific symposium held by Maysan University entitled (Nanotechnology is the future revolution: Application of nanotechnology in science, medicine and industry)

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar H. Al-Qaisi from Nanotechnology Research and Advanced Materials Center at UOT participated in scientific symposium held by Maysan University entitled (Nanotechnology is the future revolution: Application of nanotechnology in science, medicine and industry).

The symposium aimed to coordinate with researchers locally and globally to exchange scientific experiences and enhance promotion of research culture, in particular stimulating scientific research and applications of nanomaterials to serve the community, building strong and fruitful groups with local and international research institutions in research affairs.

This virtual symposium held to get acquainted with this technology and its many benefits in many scientific fields, including medical ones, as nano biological sensors are the key from Corona pandemic saving through the manufacture of highly nano biological sensors for the early detection of a corona virus infection within minutes in addition to early detection For cancer, including industrial applications, especially mechanical engineering, where nanomaterials are used in many ways to improve the properties of minerals and compound materials. As for the energy storage aspect, it contributed to improving the ion-lithium batteries by using nanomaterials in increasing the energy storage capacity with the shortening of charging time. Finally, the symposium included a major focus in preparing nanomaterials.

The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology holds a remote lecture using the ZOOM platform entitled: “Health effects of emissions of internal combustion engines for transport vehicles”

Within the program of the cultural season of the Environmental Research Center for the academic year (2019-2020), the assistant teacher Abdul Rahman Shaker Mahmoud -teacher at the Environmental Pollution Department at the center on Tuesday, 19/5/2020 at 12:30 pm, delivered a lecture (remote using the ZOOM platform) Entitled "The health effects of emissions of internal combustion engines for transport vehicles

The increase in population density played an important role in increasing the number of transportation vehicles of various types, especially in the major cities, and thus contributed effectively to increasing pollution levels due to the use of these vehicles. Therefore, the lecturer recommended the need to seriously search for other alternatives to traditional means of transportation, such as using bicycles, activating water and daily running as a healthy sport, as well as encouraging research in the field of improving fuel quality and following up on periodic maintenance of different means of transport in a way that ensures the maintenance of their performance to reduce emissions to less Allowed level according to the approved environmental standards.

A teacher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology gets the title of certified engineer in Britain

Dr. Ziyad Youssef Abdel-Aoun, a teacher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology, was awarded the title of “Certified Engineer (Legal Engineer)” from the British Engineering Council and after testing and passing a personal interview in London (Chartered Engineer) that is protected under British Civil Law and is considered a final professional qualification in engineering (Terminal Qualification)

The British Engineering Council website explains this title with the following phrase (quoted): "Certified engineers are qualified to a degree and have acquired the highest level of professional skills through training and experience with controlled professional practice (that is, the experience was conducted under professional supervision). The process of awarding this title is carried out with peer review (Peer-Reviewed Process).

Certified engineers participate in a variety of engineering and commercial leadership and have the necessary handling skills, and the certified engineer is one of the most famous international engineering qualifications.

The Crisis Cell at the University of Technology sterilizes the university presidency facilities and all its departments

Under the direct supervision of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban and Administrative Assistant to the University Hussein Hamid Karim and the scientific assistant a. Alaa Abdel Hassan Attia, The Crisis Cell of the University of Technology, with all its members, exerted a great effort, which exempted and sterilized the Presidency of the University of Technology, and for the third time in all its departments and departments, in addition to the Postgraduate Building and the Legal Department on Tuesday, May 19-20-20. The university, in cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Authority, the Ministry of Health and the Health Center of our university, has previously impregnated and sterilized all university facilities and laboratories, knowing that the university presidency has allocated a special budget for the purchase of fumigation and sterilization materials in addition to thermometers.

The University of Technology is very keen to cooperate and adhere to the instructions of the crisis cell to maintain its members, including students, employees, teachers, auditors, and transit to safety, a service to our beloved country...
