Civil Engineering Department awards a master's degree on evaluating the performance of injected porous asphalt mixture
The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a master’s degree to the student Iftikhar Abdel-Saheb Abdel-Abbas for her thesis titled:
“Evaluation of the performance of the injected porous asphalt mixture
Performance evaluation of grouted porous asphalt concrete”
The study included the production of two different types of semi-flexible paving mixes using two different types of injection materials. There is a discrepancy between the compressive strength of the two injection materials used, as the compressive strength of the first mix, which consists of (96% cement, 4% silica fume (SF), was approximately twice the compressive strength. For the second mixture, which consists of (75% cement, 25% sand).
The results of Marshall and rutting tests show that the SFP material exhibits good stability at high temperatures.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Hassan Hamoudi Jouni, Chairman and Dr. Nour Moataz Ismail and Dr. Rasha Hassan Abdel Amir, members and Prof. Dr. Miami Mohamed Hilal and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Youssef Fattah Supervisors.
