Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics Department awards a master's degree in a highly sensitive chemical gas sensor based on the growth of Gallium Nitride on a layer of porous silicon.

The Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics at the University of Technology awarded a master’s degree to student Russel Sabah Rasheed for her thesis titled:

(Highly sensitive gas chemical sensor grown on gallium nitride on a layer of porous silicon)

The thesis aimed to manufacture sensors to monitor and measure gases effectively. I discussed how to manufacture sensors by depositing Calcium Nitride films and examining samples by x-ray and FESEM.

The results showed the role of substances in changing sensitivity to invasive allergens.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Abdul Hadi Kazem Jadran as Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Riyad Muhammad and Prof. Dr. Shams Basil Ali as members, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Khaleq Abdel Hadi and Prof. Dr. Makram Abdel Muttalib Fakhri.
